2025 – 2026 YEAR ENGLISH REGULAR PLAN

Activities Strategies
Fun Room Fun

Our Fun Room activities during Wednesday lunch recess provide a meaningful context for students to learn and use English in a relaxed, engaging environment. Through board games, storytelling sessions, and interactive play, students actively practice language skills. Players and student leaders—known as English Gurus—engage in conversations, read instructions, and discuss strategies, all of which require real-time language use. These activities encourage communication and social interaction in English beyond the classroom, helping students build confidence and fluency in a fun and supportive setting.

Halloween Day

This Halloween, students embark on a magical, story-filled adventure that sets the stage for a year of enthusiastic reading and writing. From spooky hand decorations to enchanted costume catwalks, learners explore thrilling books about witches and wizards, then channel their creativity into writing their own magical tales and playing themed games. The day is strategically designed to foster self-directed learning, serving as a motivational springboard that cultivates sustained interest in both reading and writing beyond the event itself.

AI Book cover Design

As part of our English curriculum, students engage in a creative, interdisciplinary project based on a book review chapter from the Primary 6 textbook. In collaboration with Computer Studies, students will harness AI to design book covers that reflect the themes and messages of the selected text. They'll learn to input targeted modifiers to generate visuals that align with the book's content and core values.

This activity champions self-directed learning: students take initiative in navigating both literary interpretation and digital tools, making creative choices and refining their work through peer interaction. Through this process, they internalize values such as:

  • Persistence — setting goals and seeing them through with determination
  • Respect — appreciating and incorporating diverse viewpoints
  • Media and Information Literacy — developing responsible, thoughtful habits in using online information

This empowering experience nurtures students into self-motivated learners with enhanced literary insight and a responsible, creative approach to digital expression.
